In the southern region on Switzerland called the "Tessin" or Ticino you will find one of the most creative workaholic chefs I have the pleasure to call my friend , way back at the early stages of our career we were banging the pots and pans together in the kitchens of the old Noga Hilton hotel in Geneva .And now he is one of the top chefs of his region , let me introduce Stephano and Ako Lafranchi , Ako being his wife and partner in operating "Osteria Lafranchi " the restaurant they both took charge from his uncle many years ago after having travelled the world and gained a great overseas experience ! Stephano is the master of the kitchen area and Ako basically runs the dining and the rest ! Stephano is a local guy as the restaurant is in the very small village of Robasacco not far from his family , Ako is a proud Japanese lady with a very cute fluent Italian accent ! Great couple in a beautifull restaurant . So what more can you think of for a dining escape .
The restaurant operates Wednesdays to Sunday's ! So obviously closed Monday's and Tuesday's to give the couple time for a little romance and to reload there energy for the week to come , as restaurant is open lunch and dinner so there day starts early and ends when the last guest leaves . The food is impeccable , great portioning , continually changing with a great variety of promotions such as currently tartare ,coming soon Asian ( the most popular with the Game season on October ) seafood and special festive menus to end the year , all of this are supported by a superb wine cellar mainly from the region with a few foreign treasures . Chef Stephano and Ako close the property for January and August and travel the world in quest for new ideas to bring back to there loyal guest that enjoy Osteria cuisine and yes loyal as I can tell you Better reserve your seat prior arriving in Robasacco so you will not regret the trip ! A must try if you are planing to visit the area or even passing by the region ! Stephano and Ako will surely stamp your memory book with the experience they will deliver ..
