What is a Junk Food?
Any food that has poor nutritional value is considered unhealthy and may be called a junk food. A food that is high in fat, sodium, and/or sugar is known as a junk food. Junk food is easy to carry, purchase and consume. Generally, a junk food is given a very attractive appearance by adding food additives and colors to enhance flavor, texture, appearance, and increasing long self life.
A junk food has little enzyme producing vitamins & minerals and contains high level of calories. When we eat these empty calorie foods, the body is required to produce its own enzymes to convert these empty calories into usable energy. This is not desired as these enzyme producing functions in our body should be reserved for the performance of vital metabolic reactions.
Since junk food is high in fats and sugars, it is responsible for obesity, dental cavities, Type 2 diabetes and heart diseases.
A fast food may also be a junk food. Look into the calories present in fast food of different make.
Come on open that cabinet ... Let me see how guilty you are ??? What's your favourite ...
Just beware of what you abuse will abuse you eventually ...
Our health depends on what we eat daily.Foods are the building blocks of every cell in the body. Our body cells, the building blocks of our body, are responsible for the proper functioning of the whole body. Without adequate nutrition, we cannot expect ourselves to be healthy. The nutrition comes from what we eat and drink. It is important, therefore, to know what is good for our body and what is not.
But a nice juicy beef burger with some yummy toppings, ketchup , mayo !! And those fries on the side .. Do you just love it!!!
And most people will wash all that junk food down with a giant sugary soda , some times even adding a large scoop of artifial Ice cream in the soda!! A float that's called ...
Just remember you don't want to have a junk life noh? So why junk food?? The sweet fatty juicy calories is what you need?? Or you just lazy ... Hmmm don't tell me it's the wallet issue? As a full meal in a fast food chaine will still knock you back a few dollars that would have been of better use in the market on that Sunday morning getting a few fresh products.
It's all a matter of choice we make ... We all crave for things but need also to control it !!! These fast food chaine will do all they possibly can to get you hooked at a very young age so you will grow up in the tradition of going to eat there and later on bring up your own kids on there junk food...
I can tell you it's so much more fun creating a burger party at home with friends using fresh products free of MSG additives, preservatives flavourings and what ever else they have in there lab..
Good food will make you a happy productive healthy person !!!
