I came a little late not sure if lunch was still available .. 13.45 exactly on a sunny cold Monday afternoon and yes kitchen its still open according to the maitre D" !! So to not make things more complicated I decided on the set menu at 29. Frs ! Soup , appetizer , main dish and coffee ! I added the dessert ( my greedy mind and stomach needed it)
Menu started with a foamy tomato cream soup with fresh garden herbs ... Nice rich texture served in great designed bowl ! No need to add any of the sea salt mill offered to you ! Pepper mill of black and white pepper corn can be a option ! Good quantities for a set menu ..
Portioning was good ,being a morel lover I would have needed a few more ... But taste of sauce was there !! Potato gratin was well cooked , greens were tasty but got hit by the cold front before reaching the casserole :)
Overall main dish was good value for money
Goat cheese . Lemon meringue .griotte cherries.marble banana !!! Took all four flavors ( could not decide )
The goat cheese was the overall winner !
Second visit was really worth it ! I'm happy to see the progress is good for a great couple running the show with there team ! The Monument bistro gourmand is closed at the moment Wednesday all day and Thursday lunch , 2 choices of set lunch are offered at 20 frs and 29 frs .
