Yes social events and year end parties are happening ... After a long year of work one always enjoys a evening out with colleagues friends and the bosses !
Last night was Les Roches international school of hotel management 2013 Xmas dinner party ,the event was held at the newly renovated Crans Ambassador hotel in the ski resort of Crans-Montana Valais .
The hotel a 5 star class showed great design interior and exterior with a modern Look of high glass windows but keeping a warm and comfortable feeling inside with its fire place . Very attractive to the guest looking to enjoy a picturesque view over the swiss alps .
The event .... Held in the main lounge and dining venue of the property we got treated to a reception of wines and pass around finger foods which varied in sizes and taste some very interesting such as the "foie gras ginger bread chocolate opera"
Certain platters of pass around food where maybe to big for the waitress to handle ...
A speech from the upper management got the evening officially under way and we all were guided downstairs to the restaurant or venue for dinner as its was exclusive to us .
Dinner Time... The appetizers were brought around on platters from the waiters in a sampler way and style , meaning small portions and one waiter proposing one kind ... the butternut squash soup with pan seared foie was very nice , they was a few low ones like the prawn teriyaki that didn't reach our table or the cold potato soup( written Patatoes on menu) which was lacking of interest .
The main dishes were set up on a buffet station which was a good idea for every bodies personal consumption ... But was lacking in quality , chicken ,monkfish , veal stew, pork belly , potatoes , mash ,vegetables ,risotto didn't really juicy up your taste buds on a snowy Xmas dinner party event , and having seen the rotisserie oven in the kitchen a Carving station with some prime piece would have been more appropriate .
We finished of the evening dinner after sampling the selection of desserts with some fruity local liqueurs and tasty coffees served with petit fours ...some choising to digeste a long dining on the dance floor and show case there moves others just chilling out with colleagues sharing stories of the year gone by or the up coming challenges ahead ...
Over all a great venue and evening ... I'm sure Crans Ambassador hotel will do well in the market of 5 star hotels in the alps region and reestablish it's self as one of the top hotels in Crans Montana ... It is never easy to cater for a bunch of hoteliers on your early days .
Thank you for the giveaways on the way home ....
