Collonges sous Salève , hmmm your probably thinking where would that be??well it's just on the outskirts of Geneva Switzerland and it has a great dinning venue that I had the pleasure to discover call , "Auberge de Collonges" , just a left turn from the French & Swiss boarder with parking space available and a very interesting design !
This restaurant is serving a variety of regional specials and hearty meals .... A great local following , the menu surprised me , special the baked bone marrows as starter
I was very impressed with the great selection of Fondues and followed my mothers recommendation for the tomato cheese fondue served with boiled potatoes , it was easy to describe it " delicious " but the great number or dishes was surprising and I realized that they have a good number of families and couples dining in the evening as it was a Thursday it feels good to see a busing place ,
Don't forget to match your hearty meal with a nice selection of wines served at the proper temperature .
And the owner is very active and visible during the whole evening , only stopping for his own dinner ones things started to slow down ... Well for me I couldn't miss out on a dessert getting more and more popular these days " Café gourmand " well many different names are seen , but basically it's a expresso with 4 taster portions desserts , a great idea on the taste buds after a fondue to have some thing sweet and small , the local Alpine herb spirit Genepi helped also ....
So if your looking for a place to dine outside Geneva ??? Et voila ...
