The majority of pubs close at 11pm, though recent statute reforms allow premises to apply for 24 hour licensing. Some pubs have stuck to 11pm closing but chain pubs, bars (close between 12:30 and 1:30am weekdays, 1-3am weekends) and clubs (most close at 4am, some open until 7 or 8am) generally stay open later.
All around the city you’ll find traditional pubs with bizarre-sounding names like “The Dog and Duck”. Some may actually be chain pubs, mass marketed to get tourists in who want an “authentic” British pub experience and it can be hard to tell the difference from the outside. Although the tourist areas like Covent Garden, Leicester, Piccadilly and The Strand are clogged with a variety of pubs, it doesn’t hurt to get off-the-beaten path in order to find your true British pub experience.
Was over last April with family attending to my grandpa 100 birthday party !! So at the same time this was a family gathering .. Long lost cousins and aunties & uncles !! So a visit to the local pub was a must !! And yes it was a very liquid night after building a stomach foundation of fried chicken and fries (or Chips) the beers where following round after round !! A great trip and a memorable night at the Pub!! A must for all visiting the country !!

My Grandpa so proud to blog about him !
The fountain of youth might be a myth, but with the almost daily
Here are a few secrets to my grandpa , it's such a pleasure to blog about him ...
Live an active life, both mentally and physically. You don't have to be an exercise nut, but keep moving. Walking, golfing( my other grandad was an 87 years old golfer ),biking ,anything at all is good. Implement a stretching program to maintain your flexibility and lift weights to build muscle and prevent osteoporosis.
Maintain your ideal weight. Being overweight will definitely limit your chances of becoming a centenarian and is likely to make the journey a slow and painful .
Have good genes. Extreme long life seems to run in families and may be based on common genetic and environmental factors. If you have a centenarian sibling, your chances of living past the century mark increase greatly.
Eliminate unnecessary stress as it shortens your life. Finding satisfying, meaningful work is likely to contribute to a long life, and certainly does to having a life you enjoy. If you're retired, do something that gives purpose and value to your life.He cooks does gardening and household jobs ..
Every day a bowl of cereals with milk to start the day , in the evening a poached egg on whole wheat toast with butter and "Marmite" Don't forget the few cups of English tea with milk ...
Lunch last April 14 2012 on a wonderfull Saturday , we where treated to some rare English sunshine , a family reunion for the birthday of my grandpa , a table of 18 pax in the Belmont inn restaurant and pub , great interior design , spacious seating , friendly service and smiling , good wines and British inspired food menu, portions are not to big , so a appetizer is needed , if weather allows seating outside available and allows kids to play , price is reasonable , and good parking ! a great time with family for me getting to meet relatives for the first time and catching up with others that I didn't meet for years .
My grandpa a inspiration to all , with his ladies and birthday card from the queen of England on table.

Some things just stay with you some brands just don't get old or you never get feed up with eating it !! Who as a British as not eaten Heinz baked beans on toast ?? If you say no then you are faking something about your origins or need to review your childhood diet with your mum!
The Heinz Beanz we all grew up with. They don't just taste great, but are nutritious too; high in fibre, virtually fat free, and each serving counts as 1 of your 5 a day. They also contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, which makes them an ideal snack or accompaniment to any meal.
